I purchased two of these for my grandsons, but when they arrived, they were both loose in their boxes because the tie-downs had broken. After putting batteries in to test them, one produced a double image that couldn’t be fixed, and the other had faulty lights. Given the price I paid, I didn’t expect top-notch construction, but these felt very poorly made and cheaply packaged. Save yourself the trouble and don’t buy them. I returned them the same day they arrived.

I only had one of the IR lights work on both the original and the replacement I ordered. Since it was my son’s birthday present, I decided to keep one and return the other. It felt like too much hassle to order another replacement, only to possibly encounter the same issue again. Nevertheless, he still enjoys playing with it. When you look through the scope, everyone appears ghostly, which adds a fun, spooky element. If it had worked properly, I would have rated it 5 stars. Instead, Iām giving it 3 stars due to quality control problems.

As a godfather, I’m grateful I didn’t have to live with my gift! This product was a huge hit with my 12-year-old godson. I have experience with night vision for work and own professional Gen 3 goggles that he’s enjoyed using during his visits. When he recently tried out the goggles I bought him, he was thrilled the entire time (especially since being a teenager without cell service is a win in itself!). I would say the visual quality is comparable to a Carson pocket digital night vision device.
One downside I noticed is that the IR illumination settings are surprisingly effective. While the red light is visible on the high setting (which is typical for budget IR filters), the low setting is completely invisible to the naked eye. I ended up disabling the low setting on his goggles due to privacy concerns from his parentsāit worked a little too well for their liking!

I purchased this product a few years back for my son, and it came with batteries included. He enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy a couple more for Christmas. However, when I received the two additional units, the packaging was clearly tampered with, and the night scope was no longer secured in the box. The wires meant to hold the toy in place had been cut, and the batteries were missing.

Fortunately, the second item arrived in new condition. However, it doesn’t perform as well as advertised in terms of visibility. It seems more suited for children rather than serious use by adults. The material feels very lightweight and somewhat flimsy.
